GASLIT

Author: RR Haywood
Genre: Thriller
Released: 16 August 2024
Rating: ★★★★☆

Mike takes a job as live-in security guard at Huntington House during an inheritance dispute — a quiet posting that seems too good to be true. Strange noises, flickering lights, and music from empty rooms begin to erode his grip on reality as he questions what — and who — is really in the house with him. A gripping psychological thriller from RR Haywood with a sharp British voice, genuine menace, and a twist that lands hard.

This is a fantastic book. After reading DELIO, I knew I wanted to read more of RR Haywood's stuff, and this didn't disappoint.

It's a short book, but it's gripping from the very start. So much so that I read it in 2 sittings - unheard of for me as I generally don't get time for longer reading stints, but I couldn't put GASLIT down.

It has humour, thrills, jumps, and a brilliant twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Haywood is a British writer, so the humour in his books is very British too, which I appreciate. It had me full on belly laughing a number of times.

Anyway, read this book because it's brilliant.
