Flybot

Author: Dennis E. Taylor
Genre: Sci-fi
Released: 26 June 2025
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Physicist Philip Moray finds a mysterious device in his office that shouldn't exist. Then the bodies start appearing, eco-activists launch attacks, and every clue points back to Philip and his colleague Celia Hunt. A mysterious caller contacts him, and suddenly Philip's problems are far bigger than staying out of jail. A standalone sci-fi thriller from Taylor that blends corporate conspiracy, rogue technology, and his trademark dry humour.

I'm a big fan of Taylor's work but Flybot didn't really hit the mark for me as much as other books from Taylor have. I felt like the story lost its way in the middle; it came together okay in the end, where there was a interesting (but predictable) twist.

Not the best book I've ever read.
