Ok, so in my previous updates, I've been talking about how habits are made, or broken in 21 days. We're now past the 21 day point, and I have to be honest, things are getting easier.
My diet has been pretty good all week, and the hunger pangs are all but gone. I did fold and have a take away on Friday evening, but that was purely out of habit, rather than really wanting one. After eating it, I felt very unsatisfied and pretty bad that I'd undone some of my hard work on nothing more than a whim. Oh well, I'm not going to dwell on that.
On the training front, things are moving along nicely. I managed to get 2 weight training sessions in this week, as well as 2 cardiovascular sessions also. My muscles are getting used to lifting weight again, so I am able to train harder with every session.
I've never been much of a cook, but I'm now finding myself cooking a lot more, and enjoying it. I'm cooking very simple meals, like chicken breasts, scrambled eggs, omelettes etc.
Most importantly though, the "crap cravings" as I call them, are starting to subside. I'm still getting them, no doubt about that, but they're becoming less common, and easier to ignore.
Right then, it's the end of week three and I've been trying very hard. Except for the single slip up with the take out on Friday, I think I did pretty well, but has this fat guy continued to lose weight? Here you go:
- Starting weight: 114.5KG (252.4lbs)
- Current weight: 111.7KG (246.3lbs)
- Total weight loss: 2.8KG (6.2lbs)
Yes! Last week I was 112.4KG (247.8lbs), so I've lost another 0.7KG (1.5lbs). Now, that's not great if we compare it to week 1's massive 2.2KG (4.8lbs) weight loss. However, I think a lot of that may have been my body adjusting to the new regime.
Besides, I don't want a drastic weight loss here. I want a steady weight loss, that is caused by making long-term changes, not going on a diet. With that in mind, a loss of around 1KG/week is fine for me. Hell, a loss of anything every week is fine with me!
Finally, let's take a look at what the weight loss graph is looking like now:
All in all, I'm happy that things are heading in the right direction, and I'm continuing to lose weight. Over here in the UK, we tend to measure our weight in stones, and the weight I've currently lost is close to half a stone, so I really can't complain.
